How can you make online relationships translate into real life relationships?
One of the most frustrating things for me is when I spend a lot of time “getting to know someone” online and then they don’t want to meet in person.
I have a full life with family and friends and business. I don’t want to mess around with people that just want to spend time with me online.
I want people who are going to meet me in real life (IRL) and be my friend if not my lover.
The worst is when someone mis-represents themselves online. Then, after a long time, we finally meet and there is no spark in person.
How I Changed My Approach to Online Relationships
After having this happen to me a few times, I started changing the way I act online. I started applying some of the techniques I learned in sales and business.
This really improved my experience and my success.
Only recently, when someone on my live online class asked me about it, did I realize that there is a bit of a system to how I operate. It’s simple.
It may or may not be easy depending where you are in your journey. That’s why I have broken it down for you.
I have some really strong opinions about community and meeting people and spending time with people in my life. I feel a lot of it comes down to investment and equity.
Some of these ideas are similar to the ones in the book The 5 Love Languages, where the author talks about love languages and love banks.
Online you are doing a certain kind of activity, whatever that is, whether it’s chatting or camming or participating in forums.
These can be fun, but then what do you do when you really want to meet and actually have physical connection?
What if you then discover that person is not real or they are not open to meeting with you? You can get really frustrated and disappointed.
Some of my advice is going to depend a little bit on your location, since some cities don’t have get togethers like others do.

In the next few days I’ll post more articles about each suggestion with more explanation and details.
